Iltabileet ja kilpailuja Hima & Salissa

Alternative Party ry järjestää syksyn päheimmät iltabileet värkkääjille ja värkinmielisille Hima&Salissa lauantaina klo. 15-02! Ohjelmassa kilpailuja, demoja, työnäytöksiä, materiaalien, medioiden ja ihmisten kohtaamisia, musiikkia ja mitä ihmeellisimpiä kokemuksia. Klikkaa itsesi mukaan Facebookissa ja kutsu kaverisikin!

Osallistu kilpailuihin! Kilpailuissa päästään seuraamaan opettelevien ja osaavien tekijöiden taidonnäytteitä. WÄRK:demossa on kolme sarjaa: scene, real real time ja mixed. Jokaisesta sarjasta valitaan ensin paras osallistuja, minkä jälkeen sarjojen parhaat kilpailevat toisiaan vastaan Best in Show -kilpailussa. Säännöt löytyvät sivun lopusta.

Musiikista bileissä vastaa Byproduct, yhden miehen show, joka yhdistää  tietokonepelit ja demoscenen moderniin konemusiikkiin.

Mixed-sarjassa eri tekijät kohtaavat. Eri materiaaleja, tekemisen tapoja tai medioita pitää olla vähintää kaksi.

Participation

To participate, at least one of the team should be present, and prepared to present the demo to the audience (i.e. bring your own laptop, other hardware etc.). If you can’t be present or bring necessary hardware, contact competitions@altparty.org for guidance.

UPDATE 2: All participants are required to fill  this registration form (preferred) or a registration paper found at info desk. You are required to check your entry’s requirements with a competition organizer before 18.00 (also Today I Learned). Organizers are nice and can be found from info desk.

Length: 8 minutes or until we get bored

Copyright and restrictions

Alternative Party has the right to store, film, photograph or otherwise record the contribution, and to use the contributions and recordings in its future marketing, events and media productions whether commercial or non-commercial. Alternative Party has the right to use the entries or parts thereof modified or unmodified and to sublicense other entities to produce any such productions. The contributor waives the right to have any compensation from any such use.

As a general rule, the entry should be completely your own creation. If you use someone else’s work as part of e.g. a demo, it must be either public domain or you should have a written permission packaged with the entry. Your entry must follow Finnish laws. The demo will be stopped immediately if this rule is not obeyed. The competition jury has the right to adapt, change and implement the rules, considering the best of the community.

CATEGORIES

This year demos will be in following categories:

Scene
Category for all classical demo scene entries, including demos and intros. All platforms and sizes are allowed, and platform choice will be promoted. Therefore, choose your platform wisely!

Today I Learned (TIL)
All platforms, mediums and materials allowed, all sized allowed. The only limitation is that 50 % or more of the team members should be first timers. You can even enter a work done at WÄRK:fest! Just remember the competition is about learning: ask for help, discuss with a mentor, but always make the work in your own, unique style!

Mixed
Wärkfest focuses on combining different kind of people, skills and techniques. This demo requires that you combine at least two different materials, techniques or mediums into one entry. To demonstrate the process, you must provide 3 pictures demonstrating the building of the entry.

Real real time
Real time gone wild: whatever you do, it must be done on stage. Draw a picture! Code! Execute animation! The main idea is that the entry must be something created on the spot and therefore somehow dynamic to the context.

Best in Show
The best participant of each set will be selected first, and then the best compete against each other in the Best in Show competition.
